Two-year-old flown to hospital after playing in pool at home

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – A 2-year-old boy was flown to Cooper University Hospital Tuesday morning after being removed from a three-foot inflatable pool at his Cardiff home.

CPR was already being given to the boy when the first Egg Harbor Township Police officers and the Township Ambulance Squad arrived at 9:39 a.m., four minutes after the initial call for a possible child drowning.

Both of the boy’s parents were at home at the time of the incident.

The ambulance squad continued CPR on the way to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City Division. The child was flown to Cooper University Hospital, where police said his condition was unknown at press time.
