Injuries claim 10-month-old accident victim

ABSECON – An infant has died from injuries suffered in a four-car accident on the White Horse Pike here Saturday, July 19.

Ten-month-old Anthony Ross Jr. of Clementon died Thursday, July 24 at Cooper Trauma Center in Camden.

His mother, Sherene Stewart, 39, of Clementon, who was in the same vehicle, remains hospitalized at Cooper in stable condition.

The accident involved four vehicles and occurred at about 2 p.m. July 19 in the eastbound lanes of the White Horse Pike (Route 30) near Calderon Avenue.

At least 10 people were transported to area hospitals, including Ross and Stewart.

The accident remains under investigation by Ptl. Matthew Ward and Sgt. Christopher Weaver of the Absecon Police Department in cooperation with Sgt. Robert Clarke of the Atlantic City Police Department Accident Investigations Unit and Investigator Kevin Hincks and Sgt. Keith Fane of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

    This is terrible, it's unbareable to hear that a ten month innocent baby had to die because of other people's mistakes... There is nothing we can do for him now, just to hope that justice will be made.
