Sunoco robbed at gunpoint

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Three black males are being sought in connection with an armed robbery Monday, June 30 at the Sunoco gas station at Fire and Delilah roads, where a gun was held to an employee’s head.

A 60-year-old male employee of the Farmington gas station said he was approached by a black male wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a brown ski mask who put a gun to his head and demanded money around 12:14 a.m. Monday.

The employee turned over an undetermined amount of cash that he had on him. The robber also took a green canvas zipper bag full of cash from the attendant's booth.

The employee said he saw two other subjects at the station, but they did not make contact with him.

They are both described as black males wearing ski masks. One wore a white T-shirt and the other wore a black T-shirt.

All three were last seen running, as a group, south on Fire Road from the gas station.

Officers Brian Keane, James Naylor, Ron Hires and Robert O'Donoghue responded to the scene, where they found the Sunoco employee was not injured.

Officers searching the scene for the suspects were assisted by Galloway Township K-9 Officer Scott Winneberger and his partner Blaze. This incident is being investigated by Detective Sydney Terrell.
