Three arrested in thefts from multiple vehicles

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – A vigilant resident helped lead police to arrest two township men and one teenager on multiple counts of theft and led authorities to more than $10,000 in personal belongings believed to have been taken from a number of vehicles, according to a police report.
Early in the morning Thursday, July 12, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department received a call from a township resident who reported seeing several people in the vehicle of his neighbor. Officer Ron Hires and Alekhine Pahang responded to find a vehicle driving down the road with no lights on.  The officers stopped the car and subsequently arrested Jason Watt, 22, Joshua Magner, 19, and a 16-year-old male, all from Egg Harbor Township, according to reports.
The responding officers and Detectives Heather Stumpf and Gary Rzemyk continued the investigation, which police said led to the recovery of more than $10,000 in personal belongings that were allegedly stolen from multiple vehicles over several nights.  All three suspects were charged with multiple counts of theft and receiving stolen property.
It is believed that the items were taken from vehicles from, but not limited to, the following areas: off Shore Road in Linwood on the bay side, Ballenger Woods, Harbor Acres, the area of Rosemarie Drive, Brookside Farms and Old Zion Road.  These thefts are believed to have occurred between July 7-12.
Anyone with information or who has been a victim of vehicle theft during the times and locations noted is asked to contact Stumpf in the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau at (609) 926-4051.
