Beginning Monday, May 19 and continuing through Thursday, May 22, milling and paving work will occur on Main Street/Shore Road between Pleasantville and Absecon as part of a county road improvement project.
From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, the entire south-bound lane of traffic will be closed between Thompson Avenue in Pleasantville and Illinois Avenue in Absecon. The north-bound lane will remain open. VENTNOR – There will be a fresh set of faces running local government in Ventnor as all three challengers prevailed in Tuesday’s commissioners’ election.


Vote totals Tuesday night showed Theresa Kelly with 1,679, John Piatt at 1,550, Stephen Weintrob 1,577, Tim Kreischer 1,138, Joseph Schafer 1,228, and Sandy Vespertino 1,159.


There were two write in votes for a total of 2,693 votes cast out of 6,487 registered voters.

We Love Longport team prevails

LONGPORT— The voters finally had their say, determining who would guide this small town for the next four years.


The We Love Longport team of Nick Russo, Jim Leeds Sr. and Dan Lawler proved to be the top vote getters, winning with a large majority, enough that even with the 40 absentee ballots left to be tallied by the Atlantic County Board of Elections, there could be no change in the outcome.
